Craft and Hern 3 on 3

Basketball Hawkes Bay is proud to announce the return of 3 on 3 basketball for 2019. The Craft & Hern 3 on 3 2019 Qualifiers will include 5 qualifying events around Hawkes Bay between February and March 2019. It is a family-focused event where you and your friends and/or family can compete for a chance to win at the Craft & Hern 3 on 3 2019 Finals.

Register by filling out a registration form (see bottom of page) and email back to nick@hawkesbay.basketball

GRADES

Grades for Men & Women include:

  • Open (Minimum age 16 as of 24th March 2019)
  • U19 (18 or younger as of 24th March 2019)
  • U17 (16 or younger as of 24th March 2019)

The eligibility date is determined by the competition schedule and has been used to accommodate players that will play in more than one event during the 2019 BBHB 3x3 qualifying events.

ENTRY FEE

Qualifying events will have a cost of $20 per team, per event.

  • No Pay, No Play
  • No refunds available

QUALIFYING EVENTS

To qualify for the Craft & Hern 3 on 3 Finals a team must:

  • Win 1 Craft & Hern 3 on 3 Qualifier
  • Compete in at least 3 Craft & Hern 3 on 3 Qualifiers
    • Team name must remain the same – and must have at least 2 players compete in all 3 events

Finals

Saturday 23rd Mar - Napier

CASH PRIZES & SPOT PRIZES

The winning team at the FINALS event (not the qualifiers) of the Men’s and Women’s Open divisions will receive a Cash prize of $250.

There will be spot prizes awarded at random throughout the events.

DAY SCHEDULE

8:30am Registration Opens (on-the-day registrations available)

9:15am Registration Cut-off for pre-registered teams to check in and on-the-day registrations

10:00am Tipoff

12:00pm Lunch (Possible 3pt shootout /Dunk comp)

12:30pm-2pm (approx.) Continuation of pool play and finals

There will be a Tournament Marquee where the organizer of the event will be. Water and Sunscreen will also be readily available.

BALL

We will use the 3x3 'Libertria" ball for all categories.Balls are size 6, weight 7, which is the FIBA official ball size for all FIBA 3x3 events. If there is an insufficient number of 3x3 “Libertia” balls, the women’s sides will compete with a size 6 Basketball Hawkes Bay outdoor basketball.

UNIFORMS

Team uniforms are encouraged but not compulsory. If you don't have a uniform then please try to coordinate the same coloured playing top. This helps our referees immensely

FORMAT

Depending on the number of teams entered, the competition will either be Round Robin or Pool Play. There will be semi-finals and finals regardless of the type of competition.
